Working With Harken

Meaningful development takes time for reflection, action, and adjustment.

Harken primarily works with clients through structured, individual coaching engagements. Three, six, and twelve-month options provide different levels of continuity based on your objectives, context, and desired pace of development.

Why continuity matters

Insight becomes useful through application.

A useful coaching conversation can create immediate clarity. Meaningful development usually requires time to apply what you are learning, observe the result, encounter resistance, return with new information, and adjust.

Continuity also makes patterns visible across situations. The right duration depends on what you want to accomplish and how much opportunity the work requires for action, reflection, and adjustment.

Individual engagements

Choose the level of continuity the objective requires.

Focused

3-Month Coaching Engagement

Best for a defined priority, decision, transition, or leadership challenge that calls for concentrated attention over several conversations.

Includes

  • One 90-minute kickoff session.
  • Initial assessment review, when used.
  • A client-defined coaching plan.
  • Six 50-minute video sessions.
  • A concluding progress and plan review.

Sustained

12-Month Coaching Engagement

Best for sustained executive development, expanded responsibility, organizational transformation, or objectives that will evolve during the year.

  • One 90-minute kickoff session.
  • Initial assessment review, when used.
  • A client-defined coaching plan.
  • Twenty-four 50-minute video sessions.
  • Progress reviews at 3, 6, and 9 months.
  • A concluding progress and plan review.

Investment

Clear guidance, shaped by the engagement.

Individual coaching engagements currently range from $3,000 to $10,000, depending on duration. The specific investment is discussed during a Good Talk.

Organization-sponsored coaching

An organization-sponsored engagement may include additional stakeholders, assessments, contracting requirements, or agreed progress discussions. Scott establishes confidentiality boundaries at the outset so the client, sponsor, and coach share a clear understanding of how the engagement will work.

Assessments and 360° feedback

Another view, used with purpose.

An individual assessment may be used when it can create useful awareness or establish a stronger starting point. Its value comes from discussing what the results mean, deciding what deserves attention, and applying the insight.

A 360° process gathers structured feedback from selected colleagues to show how your leadership and behavior are experienced across working relationships. Harken helps define the focus, interpret the themes, and translate the feedback into a practical development plan.

  • Third-party assessment costs are passed through without markup.
  • Interpretation and debrief are included in an ongoing engagement when an assessment is used.
  • A 360° assessment is separately scoped and generally begins at $2,500.

Additional options

Shorter formats for clearly defined needs.

5-Session Coaching Series

Five 50-minute video sessions completed within three months. This format works best when a specific objective would benefit from several conversations but may not require a longer engagement.

Standalone Coaching Session

One 50-minute video conversation focused on a particular decision, challenge, or upcoming conversation.

Every engagement

What remains consistent.

  • One-to-one coaching directly with Scott.
  • 50-minute coaching sessions conducted by video.
  • A client-defined objective and agenda.
  • Confidentiality and clear expectations.
  • Coaching grounded in reflection, ownership, and action.
  • Relevant operating perspective when it supports the objective.
  • Clear expectations about what coaching can support and the outcomes it cannot guarantee.

Start with the objective

Your objectives should shape the engagement.

A Good Talk explores what you are navigating and whether coaching can serve you. If it can, Scott will recommend an engagement based on the objective, context, and continuity the work is likely to require.
